About Me
Hello!
I’m Chris Wilkinson — a lifelong optimist, storyteller, and believer in the power of positivity.
I was born in Queenstown, Eastern Cape, in 1946, and grew up in East London, where I went to Cambridge High School (matriculated in 1964).
Back then, our school motto was “Non Vobis” (not for ourselves) and that message has guided me throughout my life.
Over the years, I’ve lived a full and colourful life: from playing rugby, cricket, hockey, and golf, to weathering life’s challenges, including battling and surviving colon cancer in 2016 and navigating the ups and downs of recent world events.
Life has taught me that every day above ground is a good day, and that no matter what happens, we can choose to keep going with gratitude and hope.
I am proud to be an Honorary Member and Gold Medalist of the South African Nursery Association (SANA) — recognition I regard as an honour, not a brag.
Although I’m no longer active in the industry, I’m grateful for the memories and the people I met along the way.
Today, I focus on sharing positive stories, encouragement, and hope — especially for fellow South Afri-CANs.
This website is a space for uplifting messages, inspiring stories, and reminders that we all have something valuable to offer.
Whether it’s through stories of resilience, words of encouragement, or simply being here listening with you, I hope this space leaves you feeling a little more hopeful than when you arrived.
Thank you for visiting, for reading, and for being part of this journey.
With warm wishes,
Chris Wilkinson
